Have you ever wondered what happens when 400+ children build and design their own city - without adults and only based on their own rules? Join our international team of supervisors and find out!
What is a "Kinderstadt" (Children's City) anyway?
A Children's City is a hands-on project for children that aims to teach complex concepts from the adult world in a playful way. In their own city, the participating children can try out different professions, make political decisions together and, of course, have a lot of fun. Adults are not allowed in! Only children and the supervisors (that's you!) may enter the Children's City. This creates a city life that the participating children shape and develop themselves. In a playful way, they have to deal with democratic voting processes and topics such as social coexistence, work and wages, self-determination and co-operation.

There's plenty to learn for you!
As a supervisor for the 400+ children attending daily, there are plenty of opportunities for you to learn and make new experiences! Gain valuable insights into the pedagogical guidance of children in the context of an international educational project, and working with the 100+ international volunteers offers great opportunities to improve your skills in terms of cooperation, coordination, communication and work organisation!
You will also have the opportunity to learn more about ESC volunteering, life in Germany and the construction/dismantling of a large-scale open-air event. During the Kinderstadt you will attend a small German course to facilitate communication with the children.
Oh, one more thing: this project is the largest international youth exchange in Central Germany. If you ever wanted to make new contacts, get to know other young people from all over Europe and have a lot of fun together - this is the place for you!
