This free Youth Exchange at the European Youth Education Centre (EJBM) gives you the chance to meet young people from different countries, broaden your horizons, and strengthen your communication skills.

Kosten, Unterkunft, Verpflegung und Betreuung:

Die Teilnahme an einem internationalen Jugendaustausch in der Europäischen Jugendbildungsstätte Magdeburg ist kostenlos. Unterkunft in Mehrbettzimmern und Vollverpflegung sind inklusive. Minderjährige Teilnehmende werden von ihren Gruppenleitungen oder pädagogischen Fachkräften der EJBM betreut.

Thema, Lernziele und Methoden:

This youth exchange brings together young people from different countries to explore culture, language, and identity in a creative and inspiring way. Through interactive workshops, group activities, and intercultural dialogue, participants strengthen their communication skills, broaden their perspectives, and learn how to navigate cultural diversity. The program offers space to share experiences, build friendships across borders, and develop ideas for a more inclusive and connected Europe. Guided by experienced facilitators, participants will discover how youth encounters can empower them to shape their future in an open and collaborative spirit.

We are looking for young people who are curious about culture, language, and identity, and who enjoy working together in a diverse team. You don’t need any special skills — just bring your openness, your ideas, and your willingness to share and learn from others. If you like trying new things, tasting food from different countries, or simply connecting with people across borders, this exchange is for you!

Jugendbegegnungen bringen junge Menschen aus verschiedenen Ländern zusammen, um gemeinsame Erfahrungen zu machen, Ideen auszutauschen und unterschiedliche Kulturen kennenzulernen. In vielfältigen Aktivitäten, Workshops und Projekten stärken die Teilnehmenden ihr interkulturelles Verständnis, entwickeln sich persönlich weiter und erwerben wertvolle Lebenskompetenzen.

Durch den Aufbau internationaler Freundschaften und die Zusammenarbeit über Grenzen hinweg fördern Jugendbegegnungen Offenheit, Zusammenhalt und ein europäisches sowie globales Bewusstsein. So werden junge Menschen ermutigt, aktiv an einer vielfältigen und vernetzten Gesellschaft mitzuwirken.

Die EJBM organisiert regelmäßig internationale Jugendbegegnungen in Magdeburg – jede mit einem eigenen thematischen Schwerpunkt und individuellen Lernzielen.

    • The EJBM is a placement site for international volunteer teams within the (ESC). We regularly welcome groups of young people from all over the European Union (and beyond) to work on various projects. your chance for an unforgettable experience in Magdeburg. Our educational centre’s activities focus on human rights, democracy and European education.

    Topic, Learning Goals and Methods:

    In order to provide a full-circle educational experience, we intend to provide experiential education and leisure offers in accordance to our educational programmes. This ESC volunteering team will be collecting different options for experiential education and leisure offers, analyse them with respect to their suitability and develop action plans for their implementation. Furthermore, the ESC volunteers will have the opportunity to experience international youth work by supporting the implementation of our Erasmus+ YOUTH activities and to get in touch with the local community via supporting a local Christmas market.

    During the short-term ESC program, participants will receive preparatory and ongoing training to ensure a meaningful and impactful experience. At the beginning, an on-arrival orientation will be provided, covering key topics such as intercultural communication, project goals, health and safety, and ESC values. Throughout the program, there will be regular reflection sessions, skills workshops, and mentorship support to help participants develop personally and professionally. Specific training will also be provided depending on the tasks involved (environmental awareness etc.)

    Interests and Traits:

    We are looking for volunteers who bring qualities such as creativity, dedication, an open mind, eagerness, curiosity, leadership skills, a collaborative spirit, confidence, problem-solving abilities, initiative, and adaptability. If you are outgoing, enjoy living and working closely with people from across Europe, and appreciate an international environment, this is your opportunity to represent your country or region. English is the working language of the project. Knowledge of German is welcome but not required.

    Accommodation and Meals:

    Volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms with generally four people (towels and sheets are provided) at the European Youth Educational Centre Magdeburg. Since our facilities can also be booked by outside groups, the living arrangements can be subject to change due to bookings by outside groups. The volunteers will be provided with food to prepare meals with the group (unless meals are provided by the organisation) as well as 7€ pocket money per day.

    Diese deutsch-französische Jugendbegegnung bietet dir die Möglichkeit, deine Französischkenntnisse ganz praktisch anzuwenden und zu vertiefen – im direkten Austausch mit jungen Menschen aus Frankreich. Gemeinsam reisen wir ab Magdeburg nach Saint-Laurent-Nouan, wo euch eine intensive Woche voller Theaterworkshops, Sprachanimation und interkulturellem Miteinander erwartet. Ob bei Ausflügen nach Beaugency und Orléans oder im Alltag vor Ort – du wirst die französische Sprache lebendig erleben und dabei neue Perspektiven gewinnen.

    Kosten, Unterkunft, Verpflegung und Betreuung:

    Es wird ein Teilnahmebeitrag von 50 Euro erhoben. Der Teilnahmebeitrag kann in Härtefällen erlassen werden. Die Busreise nach Frankreich und zurück, Unterkunft in Mehrbettzimmern und Vollverpflegung sind inklusive. Minderjährige Teilnehmende werden von ihren Gruppenleitungen oder pädagogischen Fachkräften der EJBM betreut.

    Die An- und Abreise erfolgt gemeinsam im Reisebus ab/bis Magdeburg. Untergebracht sind wir in Mehrbettzimmern in der Espace des Fées (Saint-Laurent-Nouan).

    Thema, Lernziele und Methoden:

    In dieser deutsch-französischen Jugendbegegnung steht das Zusammenspiel von Sprache, Theater und interkultureller Erfahrung im Mittelpunkt. Ziel ist es, mit theaterpädagogischen Methoden die eigene Ausdrucksfähigkeit zu stärken, Vertrauen in die Anwendung der französischen Sprache zu gewinnen und gemeinsam kreative Ideen auf die Bühne zu bringen.

    Durch Sprachanimation, Theaterübungen, Teambuilding-Aktivitäten und kreative Gruppenprozesse entwickeln die Teilnehmenden praktische Kommunikationsstrategien, um sich auf Französisch (und Deutsch) verständlich zu machen – ohne Leistungsdruck, aber mit viel Spaß und echtem Austausch.

    Die Woche bietet außerdem Einblicke in das Leben in Frankreich: bei gemeinsamen Mahlzeiten, bei Workshops sowie bei Ausflügen nach Beaugency und Orléans.

    Teilnehmendenprofil:

    Gesucht werden junge Menschen, die Lust haben, ihre Französischkenntnisse praktisch anzuwenden und zu verbessern. Du solltest Grundkenntnisse in Französisch mitbringen und offen dafür sein, dich im Alltag, in kreativen Übungen und im Austausch mit der Partnergruppe auf die Sprache einzulassen. Vorerfahrungen im Theater sind nicht nötig – wichtig sind Neugier, Teamgeist und die Bereitschaft, dich auf kreative Methoden und interkulturelle Begegnung einzulassen.

    Young people from Germany, France and Poland come together to explore European values through music and creativity. They build their own instruments, write a song about Europe, and share their ideas in a final performance. The project fosters dialogue, teamwork and a sense of European identity.

    Thema, Lernziele und Methoden:

    "Young Voices for Europe" is a week-long international youth exchange that brings together young people from Germany, France and Poland to creatively express their perspectives on Europe—through music, self-built instruments, and their own voices as symbols of identity and engagement.

    Throughout the week, participants will take part in hands-on workshops, intercultural activities and collaborative music-making. They will build instruments from recycled materials, explore European values and youth participation, and co-write an original song about Europe that reflects their hopes for a diverse, united and youth-driven future.

    The programme includes songwriting sessions, interactive EU workshops, cultural evenings and a final performance showcasing their self-made instruments and the jointly composed "Europe Song".

    Expected outcomes include strengthened intercultural friendships, a deeper understanding of European issues, and a creative, musical statement for a democratic and inclusive Europe.

    Teilnehmendenprofil:

    We are looking for young people who are into music, open to intercultural teamwork, and excited to get creative with sounds, words, and ideas. You don’t need to be a musician — just bring your curiosity, your voice, and your willingness to explore Europe in a fun and hands-on way. If you enjoy building things, writing lyrics, or simply expressing yourself, this is your stage!

    Allgemeine Informationen zu Jugendbegegnungen:

    Jugendbegegnungen bringen junge Menschen aus verschiedenen Ländern zusammen, um gemeinsame Erfahrungen zu machen, Ideen auszutauschen und unterschiedliche Kulturen kennenzulernen. In vielfältigen Aktivitäten, Workshops und Projekten stärken die Teilnehmenden ihr interkulturelles Verständnis, entwickeln sich persönlich weiter und erwerben wertvolle Lebenskompetenzen.

    Durch den Aufbau internationaler Freundschaften und die Zusammenarbeit über Grenzen hinweg fördern Jugendbegegnungen Offenheit, Zusammenhalt und ein europäisches sowie globales Bewusstsein. So werden junge Menschen ermutigt, aktiv an einer vielfältigen und vernetzten Gesellschaft mitzuwirken.

    Die EJBM organisiert regelmäßig internationale Jugendbegegnungen in Magdeburg – jede mit einem eigenen thematischen Schwerpunkt und individuellen Lernzielen.
