How can after-school care be successfully organised in Germany and Poland? With this guiding question, 14 professionals from Saxony-Anhalt’s partner region Masovia travelled to the European Youth Education Centre Magdeburg (EJBM) this week.
The professional exchange was organised by the EJBM together with the Polish partner organisation Szansa, GOEUROPE! and the Association of International Relations of Saxony-Anhalt (AGSA). The focus was on exploring different concepts, methods and experiences in the field of after-school care for children.
The programme included, among other things:
- a workshop providing insights into the German education system,
- a presentation on projects and non-formal educational offers of the EJBM,
- visits to the after-school facilities of the Evangelische Grundschule Magdeburg, the Freie Waldorfschule Magdeburg, the Johanniter Hort Friedenshöhe as well as the Grundschule am Glacis.
Particularly valuable: Not only did the Polish professionals gain new impulses, but the German educators also benefitted from the experiences and approaches of their colleagues from Masovia.
The exchange concluded with a reception at the State Chancellery of Saxony-Anhalt, where the importance of the long-standing partnership with Masovia was emphasised.
Our sincere thanks go to all participating institutions and partners who made this exchange possible!
