What can educators in after-school care centers and facilities in Poland and Germany learn from each other? With this question in mind, twelve professionals from Masovia, Saxony-Anhalt's partner region, visited the European Youth Education Centre Magdeburg.
The professional exchange organized by our Polish partner organization Szansa and GOEUROPE! focused on various approaches to after-school care for children. The program included, among other things, a lecture with a discussion round on the structure and pedagogical concepts of after-school care in Germany, a presentation of non-formal methods, projects, and educational offerings of the EJBM, as well as joint visits to two local after-school care facilities.
To emphasize the importance of the long-standing cooperation between Saxony-Anhalt and Masovia, a visit to the State Chancellery was scheduled at the end, where the educators were received by the responsible department for international cooperation.
Many thanks to the teams from Hort am Glacis and Hort Ottersleben, as well as the Institute for Quality and Development of Social Professions, for the professional support!
